Switzerland, a federal republic also officially known as the Swiss Confederation, is situated in Europe surrounded by Germany to the North, Italy to the South, France to the West and Austria to the East. The country is divided in to 26 Cantons and the main centers are Zurich, Basel and Geneva. The legal system is based on Civil Law. The national currency is Swiss Franc (CHF) and the official languages are: German, French, Italian and Romansh (derived from Latin).
