The British Virgin Islands (BVI) consist of 60 Islands and Cays, located in the Eastern Caribbean, about 80 Kilometres East of Puerto Rico. The BVI has been a British Colony in the Caribbean since 1672, with its own legislation adopted through a Constitution in 1967 and is based on a common law legal system. The national currency is U.S. Dollar and the official language is English.
